We have high expectations for all pupils at Orchard View Primary Academy. Every child, regardless of their background or starting point, deserves the opportunity to succeed and thrive. 

In line with our motto, "Together we Learn, Together we Succeed," we are committed to ensuring that disadvantage of any kind is never a barrier to learning or achievement.

The Pupil Premium grant provides additional funding to help raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils. At Orchard View, we use this funding to support pupils of all abilities, helping to close any gaps in achievement between them and their peers. We also recognise that not all pupils eligible for the grant will be behind in their learning, and so we use the funding to support their continued progress and help them reach their full potential.

Eligibility Criteria for Free School Meals

Free school meals are available to pupils in receipt of, or whose parents are in receipt of, one or more of the following benefits:

• Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)

• Income Support

• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

• The guarantee element of Pension Credit

• Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)

• Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
