Academy Travel Plan
Our Academy Travel Plan is supported by the whole academy community and demonstrates our long-term commitment to improving safety and reducing congestion on the roads.
It aims to reduce car use, enable parents and children to choose walking or cycling with confidence and to seek to cut vehicle congestion at the academy gate.
The Academy Travel Plan is a whole academy initiative and demonstrates commitment from children, staff, parents, trustees and the wider community.
Parent Parking
All parents are asked to adhere to a “Parking Promise” and are encouraged to park further away from the academy and walk. If however you find the need to park near or outside the academy, please do not park on bends, on junctions or where the children cross the road. Please also be courteous to our neighbours and do not block driveways.
We are working to build strong relationship with local residents and areas locally. We are confident that we can build strong links with the local community by parking safely and considerately.
Road Safety
Tales of the Road is designed to empower children with the knowledge to stay safe on our road.
The resource contains tips and interactive games to help young road users navigate the workbook quickly and easily.

Modeshift STARS
Modeshift STARS is the national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel. The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.
