Academy Council

Our Academy Council is the voice of our pupils at Orchard View Primary Academy!

The Academy Council provides pupils with a meaningful opportunity to share their ideas, opinions and experiences and play an active role in shaping life at our academy. Through regular meetings, discussions and projects, our councillors work together to identify ways in which we can make Orchard View an even better place to learn, play and grow.

Being part of the Academy Council is an important enrichment opportunity. It helps pupils develop confidence, communication, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills, while giving them the opportunity to take on responsibility and make a positive contribution to our academy community and possibly the wider community around them.

Our councillors are encouraged to listen to the views of others, speak confidently, respect different opinions (our British Values) and work in partnership with pupils and adults. They help to ensure that children's ideas are heard and that pupils understand that their voice can make a real difference.

The Academy Council also supports our academy PRIDE values of Partnership, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Excellence. Through their role, pupils develop as responsible and active members of our community, becoming positive role models for others and helping to create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, listened to and able to contribute.
