Volunteering at Orchard View
We welcome applications from volunteers who would like to support our academy community. Whether you can offer regular time or occasional help, volunteering is a rewarding way to contribute to academy life and support children’s learning.

All volunteering placements are subject to appropriate safeguarding checks, interview and an induction before you can begin.
Volunteers can contribute to academy life in many ways, including:
- Reading with children – listening to pupils read and helping them develop confidence and enjoyment.
- Supporting classroom activities – helping with practical tasks, games and creative projects under the guidance of staff.
- Sharing skills and interests – contributing talents such as gardening, art, music or languages.
- Helping with trips and visits – supporting staff during educational visits.
- Supporting the library – organising books and helping children choose something to read.
- Helping at academy events – supporting celebrations, fundraising activities and community events.
- Improving our outdoor spaces – helping with planting, gardening and caring for our academy grounds.
Opportunities will depend on the academy’s needs, your interests and availability, and the appropriate safeguarding checks.
