September 2025 Opening Strategy
There have unfortunately been significant delays in submitting the planning application for Orchard View Primary Academy and this ultimately means Orchard View Primary Academy will not be completed in time to be used by Orchard View pupils in September 2025.
This is something that Inspiring Futures Partnership Trust and Buckinghamshire Council have worked incredibly hard to try to prevent and are extremely disappointed by. We are very aware of the importance of providing primary places in September 2025 for the Kingsbrook residential development growing population and do not want to postpone the opening of Orchard View Primary Academy until September 2026.
Fortunately, Kingsbrook View Primary Academy is only a very short walking distance away from Orchard View Primary Academy and is also part of Inspiring Futures Partnership Trust. We are very grateful that Mr Turner (Head of Academy) and all staff at Kingsbrook View Primary Academy want to support our desire to open Orchard View in September 2025. Kingsbrook View will have two available classrooms in September 2025 which will be used by Orchard View’s first pupils for their first academic year to provide first-class teaching and learning spaces for Orchard View’s first Reception and mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class. This mixed age Year 1 and Year 2 class will then separate and expand into two classes of 30 children in September 2026 when all have moved into the wonderful new buildings.
Whilst at Kingsbrook View Primary Academy, Orchard View’s pupils will be taught in their own classes and by Orchard View staff, they will eat together with access to hot lunches and will use and enjoy all required spaces such as playgrounds, hall and sports field. Orchard View’s pupils and staff will be led by Orchard View’s newly appointed Head of Academy.
This delay also frustratingly means that Orchard View’s Social, Emotional and Mental Health special educational needs provision will not be open until September 2026 at the earliest.
The finer and more precise details of this opening strategy will be developed later this academic year and will be shared and discussed with all families prior to children starting.
This is not the opening Inspiring Futures Partnership Trust and Buckinghamshire Council wanted, but please be reassured that together we are committed to ensuring all Orchard View children starting in September 2025 at Kingsbrook View Primary Academy will have an enriching, rewarding and fantastic educational experience. This close collaboration with Kingsbrook View children and staff will forge the start of a wonderful partnership between two closely located primaries which will bring many positives to pupils, parents and staff.
